In March 2012 I picked up the new SE version of the F650GS on loan from BMW for a ride to Morocco to research new routes for the next edition of Morocco Overland as well as gather last-minute material for AMH.
A few months later the ‘650’ became the broadly similar F700GS until the new 750 and 850 came out in 2018.
